The Shandong Publishing Group (SDPG) was established in 1951 and, as a result of its effective modern management, high standards of publishing and comprehensive range of publications, it is now one of the largest and fastest growing publishing operations in China. It is based in one of the most populous and economically successful provinces in China and services both the national and provincial markets. In 2004 SDPG issued 4431 different editions, including 1947 new titles. It also completed over 600 copyright transactions with more than 20 international and national partners.
The group has been awarded nearly 100 book prizes including the three top Chinese book awards at the national level and the brand and profile of the Shandong Publishing Group is spreading rapidly both in China and abroad. The general sales of the Shandong Publishing Group are now at the top of the league table for the publishing industry in China.
